Rooted in China and Facing the Asia Pacific, the first shot in January 2024!
APACCOLD's first overseas operation project - the cold storage of Brunei Mora Fishing Port has officially landed. At present, APACCOLD Hong Kong Group Company is undergoing registration verification and establishing APACCOLD Brunei International Supply Chain Co., Ltd. After its establishment, Brunei Company will become a second level wholly-owned subsidiary of the group and be assigned the function of Southeast Asia regional headquarters. Simultaneously launching the recruitment and construction of elite talents across the Asia Pacific region, the APACCOLD overseas management team is ready to take off !
Brunei Mora Fishing Port is located in Mora County, Brunei, with a total project area of 16.07 hectares. It is the only commercial fishing port in Brunei that can accommodate fishing vessels with a total tonnage of over 30 tons and has operating rights. This fishing port provides various supporting services and facilities for fishing and aquaculture operations, including fishing unloading, docking, ice and oil supply, feed preparation, and fishing gear replacement. It aims to become a comprehensive fishing supporting area that integrates processing and sales. APACCOLD Hong Kong Group is collaborating with Muara International Fish Landing Sdn Bhd (MIFL) to oversee the overall operation of the new cold storage facility at Mora Fishing Port. The facilities in the warehouse cover primary processing centers for tuna and all marine products, 100 ton minus 60 degree rapid freezing equipment, 5000 ton freezer, and international high standard cold storage supporting equipment. APACCOLD will also combine Brunei's rich fishery resources and its own international enterprise advantages to introduce high-quality domestic and foreign cooperative alliance customers to Brunei for multi-level fishery and seafood cooperation, achieving a business model from a single cold chain operator operation and maintenance model to an international temperature control supply chain.
Announcement No. 2 of 2024 by the General Administration of Customs on the Inspection, Quarantine, and Hygiene Requirements for Imported Brunei Aquatic Products, which opens up the export of Brunei's wild fishing and aquaculture products to China. In addition, ASEAN RCEP countries and the Brunei government are vigorously promoting the ASEAN East Expansion Area BIMP-EAGA alliance, which has accelerated the expansion of supply and demand transactions of various marine resources. It is planned that the trade volume will increase by multiple times annually starting from this year.
Against the backdrop of sluggish or even regressive global economic growth in the post pandemic era, the economy of Southeast Asia is showing a trend of recovery. According to data statistics, in 2021, trade between the two countries overcame the impact of the epidemic and grew against the trend, reaching a historic high of 2.85 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 46.6%. Among them, China's exports to Brunei reached 630 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 35.2%; Imports from Brunei reached 2.22 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 50.1%. The growth rate of Chinese trade is much higher than the 28.1% growth rate of China ASEAN trade. Brunei, as a member of ASEAN, enjoys all the preferential policies of the ASEAN Economic Community, continuously enhancing its international status and competitiveness. In the future, with the rise of the ASEAN economy and the acceleration of regional integration, Brunei's products can be easily exported to the entire ASEAN market. Through the construction and operation of this project, Brunei's domestic fishery industry development and foreign export trade can be promoted to achieve new leaps, achieving complementary advantages and win-win economic effects. This is also one of the important reasons why APACCOLD chose to settle its first overseas project in Brunei.
In addition to Brunei, APACCOLD will continue its strategic layout in Southeast Asia, focusing on countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, and is currently in a steady progress stage.
Domestically, APACCOLD will take Guangxi Qinzhou International Container Port as the link center, open up the multimodal transport line from Brunei to Qinzhou, and take Chongqing, Chengdu, Guizhou, Lanzhou, Kunming, Gansu, etc. as the key nodes to connect the new international land and sea trade channel of the "the Belt and Road". APACCOLD will collaborate with strategic partners at various nodes of the Western Land Sea New Corridor to jointly build the Western Land Sea New Corridor and share the new opportunities brought by RCEP.
Under the new development pattern of "domestic circulation as the main body, and domestic and international dual circulation promoting each other", this cooperation with Muara International Fish Landing Sdn Bhd (MIFL) also marks APACCOLD's official step out of the country and facing the Asia Pacific market, successfully firing the company's first shot into the Asia Pacific market. APACCOLD will actively promote the upgrading and improvement of the cold chain logistics infrastructure of the Mora Fishing Port project, enrich its business model, and thereby improve the overall operational efficiency, regional service level, and revenue level of Brunei Mora Fishing Port. APACCOLD will always uphold the original intention of "safeguarding the safety of people's dining tables", shoulder responsibilities, and work together with the industry to write a new chapter in the development of cold chain logistics.
Stay tuned for the official opening ceremony of APACCOLD Brunei (Southeast Asia) headquarters!
